Nemma

Privacy summary

Nothing leaves your device. Here is exactly what that means.

Instead of saying “it’s secure”, we list every item. This is a plain-language summary; the full privacy policy is a draft pending review by counsel.

Stays on your PC

  • Audio. Processed in memory and never recorded, saved or sent. Not even with server translation on.
  • Recognized speech and captions. Kept in memory during the meeting, then discarded.
  • Other people’s voices. Telling speakers apart is off by default and asks first. Voice features exist only in memory during the meeting, then are deleted. Nothing is remembered for next time.
  • Your settings. Display preferences, your own name (to notice when you’re mentioned) and your names and terms are saved on your PC only.
  • Videos you watch (experimental video captions). No video or audio is uploaded, no subtitle files are made, and these captions can’t be saved or copied.

Saved only if you choose, on your PC

  • Meeting notes (coming). Live notes (summary, topics, decisions, action items) are made on your PC. Saving is off until you turn it on for a meeting. Notes are saved by default; the full transcript only with a separate switch. They’re local files that you share yourself.
  • Please tell people. When you save a meeting, Nemma reminds you to let the others know. Your company’s policies or the law may require it.

Leaves your PC only when you turn it on

Server translation Off by default

For PCs too slow to translate locally (Pro and the trial).

Sent to: Google (Vertex AI).

What: the recognized text being translated, a little context and your term list. Never your audio. Google answers with text, which Nemma shows as captions.

Your PC connects to Google directly with a short-lived key from our license server, so the text doesn’t pass through our servers. The app shows a label while it’s on and asks before the first use.

A screen nearby Off by default

Sent to: a screen you connect in the same room, over your local network only — not over the internet and not through our servers.

What: the captions, while sharing is on.

You connect with a one-time QR code, and the app shows how many screens are watching.

Always goes out, with no meeting content

  • Model downloads. On first run and when a model is updated.
  • License checks. Your license key, a random device id and the app version.
  • Update checks. The app version and platform.

None of these include audio, captions, notes, your terms or anything you watched.

Account and payments

  • Our license server keeps your email address, your Stripe customer id, your plan and status, and the random ids of the devices you activate.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • You can delete your account yourself on the account page. We then keep only what the law requires: the record of the subscription terms you agreed to, and invoices kept by Stripe for tax purposes.
  • Lost your license key? Enter your email and we send you a one-time code.
  • We don’t use your information to train AI models and we never sell it.

This website

  • Hosting. The site is served by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the site.
  • No trackers. No analytics, ad scripts, cookies, tracking pixels or third-party fonts.
  • Founders Circle (waitlist). If you join, your email address is sent through Formspree to our inbox. We use it only to email you about Nemma’s launch. To be removed, reply to any email or write to hello@nemma.ai.
